My Favorite Husband
My favorite Husband was a romantic comedy radio show that ran from 1948 to 1951. This old time radio show eventually evolved into the popular TV series, I Love Lucy. The radio show was based off two novels; Mr. and Mrs. Cugat, The Record of a Happy Marriage and Outside Eden. My Favorite Husband ran for 124 episodes. The cast members were Lucille Ball, Richard Denning, Gale Gordon, Bea Benaderet, Ruth Perrot, and Eleanor Audley. At the beginning, the cast would sing a fun song about Jell-O, who happened to be the sponsor. Before My Favorite Husband evolved into I Love Lucy, it was made into a similar TV series also called My Favorite Husband. Lucille Ball was a comedian, model, actress, and studio executive. She was the first woman to run a TV studio, Desilu, wich produced many well-known TV series, such as Mission Impossible and Star Trek.
