New radio drama ‘Secrets of Harridge House’ premieres Friday on Carson City’s KNVC
Secrets of Harridge House, a weekly radio drama produced by Proscenium Players, Inc. and KNVC 95.1 FM Carson City premieres this Friday, Oct. 30, 2020 at 8 p.m. Created by John Adams and Scott Young, the story follows three siblings who were separated as infants and reunited almost 30-years later as they inherit the family estate in fictional Harridge, Nev.
After arriving at Harridge House, they begin to meet the residents, which include their secretive Aunt Sandra and several ghosts of dead relatives. Thanks to Covid-19, Executive Producer Jeff Basa and Technical Producer Joe Bly have had to overcome many obstacles, the biggest of which has been not being able to bring the voice actors together in the studio to record.
Instead, they use a popular podcast app called Zencastr to record the actors remotely in the comfort of their homes, thus eliminating any danger of being exposed to the virus. One unexpected benefit of the process has been the opportunity to work with actors in other States.
The open auditions held in September yielded nearly 100 hopefuls trying out for roles, and once Basa made his decisions, he discovered the main cast is spread out all over the country, based in Virginia, Illinois, Kansas, Arizona, Oregon, California and, of course, Northern Nevada. New episodes will air every Friday at 8 p.m. and will repeat on Sundays at 9 p.m.
The series will also be streamed on the Internet for those living outside of the Carson City area. For more information, visit the series website at www.secretsofharridgehouse.com or KNVC’s website at www.KNVC.org
